Five cosy mobile games for switching your brain off

Five cosy mobile games for switching your brain off

August 2, 2026 · Lukas Berger

There's a whole genre of games built for doing nothing stressful, and I love them. No timers, no leaderboards breathing down your neck, just a quiet world to potter around in.

Driftwood Cove Days is my current favourite in this space. You rebuild a sleepy town at your own pace, and the lack of pressure is the entire point. I play it the way other people watch comfort TV.

The common thread in good cosy games is that they trust you. They don't push notifications or dangle timers to force you back. You return because you want to, not because the game guilt-trips you.

If you've had a long day, these are the ones to keep on your home screen. Install one, lower the brightness, and let it do its gentle thing.
