Mobile strategy games that make you actually plan
Most mobile strategy marketing screams about massive armies and endless upgrades. The games I enjoy most are smaller and sharper, where every move counts.
Iron Tide Command is a great example. It's a naval game about positioning and timing, and a single bad decision can lose you the whole battle. That tension is exactly what I want from the genre.
The key is readability. A strategy game lives or dies on how clearly it shows you the board. The best ones work even on a small phone, with icons you can parse at a glance.
If you've bounced off mobile strategy because it felt shallow, try the slower, grid-based ones. There's real depth hiding under the quiet surface.
